I was looking for pans like this forever. I don't know why they stopped making them and only make the unison now. I do not like the way things cooked in non stick pans come out. If you follow the directions you get a perfect crust on your food. I have cooked everything from fish to chicken to hamburgers and they are perfect. I use an oil mister so I only use a small amount of oil. I also have a pretty nice stainless steel set and they do not compare. Like other reviews and the directions say, be patient and when the food is done it will not stick. Such a great price on them also!

We received this set as a wedding gift and I was thrilled! The pans are heavy, well made, and cook evenly. But everything sticks! Even bacon. I tried all types of oil but all food stuck to the pan and left stains even after washing. These had to go back.

These are great pans for the price, but then again I am partial to the hard-anodized type surface finish, as opposed to non-stick or polished stainless. The heat control is excellent when used with a gas burner. If you have a pot of water on to boil, and you turn the heat from high to low, the pan cools down very quickly. Same goes for heating them up. I believe this kind of cookware finish is misunderstood by many home cooks, since it does take a little know-how to get the results you want. For example, cooking meat in this type of pan requires an even, thin coating of fat like butter or oil and you MUST add cold oil to the dry, hot pan just before adding the meat otherwise it will stick like crazy. Hot pan, cold oil, food won't stick is an old chef trick and this goes for anything high in protein including eggs. Keep in mind that this sort of finish is used quite a bit in professional kitchens including a few I have worked in.
Also, don't ever put these in the dishwasher as the detergent will strip and discolor the finish. The only reason for the 4-star rating on this particular set is because I feel a separate lid should be included for the medium skillet -- none of the lids really fit it very well.

I purchased this set in December for a gift. It was at a bargain price, but has turned out not to be a bargain. After only six months of use (the reputation of this maker is that it is of lasting quality), the pans are sticking to everything...and the recipient cannot figure out why.The Amazon replacement warranty has expired, and the manufacturer has thus far refused its return.
My advise: buy a triple clad stainless set like the Chef Emerol sells ( i have his stuff and it is wonderful).

Not dishwasher safe - my husband made the mistake of putting one of the lids in the dishwasher. Their biggest flaw are the handles. They are very skinny which makes it very difficult for handling! But for the price, definitely worth it. Other than those things it's a GREAT set!
